Vacation begins with relaxation!

Our Hotel in Cabo Rojo (came with the Lizard built in)

Our Beach, the best place to relax and swim.  Mind you this is at the end of a dirt road not made for rental vehicles which are two wheel drive, but they are rental vehicles after all!

This lighthouse is overlooking the beach above and can be found on the South Western most point of Puerto Rico.  You can even find the beach and lighthouse on Google Maps if you zoom in all the way.

Rio Camuy Cave

The Entrance is a sight to behold.

This was one of the many adventures on this trip.  The caves themselves are beautiful, but getting there on the small backroads (as we decided to be adventurous) is were the real fun lay.

This is the Oldest Church in the Western Hemishpere located in San Germán.

The fountain and old firestation in Ponce.

Seralles' castle, owned by the family who developed the sugar cane market in Puerto Rico.

Don Quijote and flowers in the gardens.

The flowers are a tribute to Sepedeh's diligence, attention to detail and love of flowers.

Sometimes, as some of you may expect, the animals own the road.  Just like this bull who decided that it was time to take a stroll.

El Yunque, the RAIN forest.

It was such a beautiful day, we decided that a hike or two where in order.  The first hike took us to this observation tower.  Note that all you see is WHITE.  This is due to the heavy fog and mist all around us, seeing that we were in a RAIN forst and all.  If you plan to travel to a RAIN forest, like this, please remember that it may (most likely) RAIN!  As we were not fully perpared for this situation, this provided an opportunity for us to showcase our adventurous side, feeling at times like we were taking showers during out hikes.

Next, we moved on to this beautiful waterfall, Mina Falls.  Where we promptly took a picture for proof that we had completed the hike and turned around for the hike back.

Deciding that a little more relaxation was in order, we decided to take a Sail and Snorkel day at sea.

Sepedeh's first time snorkeling (and loving it mind you).

The Coral

El Moro - Old San Juan - The Walled City

Pictures from within El Moro

Let's not forget one of the best Restroom views in the world.

Fort San Christobal in Old San Juan

Nest came kayaking in the bioluminesent bay in Fajardo.  This was spectacutar!  To see the water come to life as it was disturbed by our paddles and later by us swimming in the water.

With these adventures behind us, we headed back over the bridge to fly out of Puerto RIco.

To our surprise, the party wasn't over yet.  As Carnival was fast approaching, we were treated to some live music and dancing in the airport.  This was a great treat since were to miss the celebration.

As the sun set from our plane, we relaxed for the flight home.  As we soon found out, this was a whole other adventure in itself.  But about 14 hours later and +stops in JFK and Denver we were safely home to recover from our vacation.
